Iran, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have agreed to continue high-level negotiations aimed at strengthening regional peace and security following talks in Tehran. According to Al Jazeera on October 27, the meeting marked the first diplomatic engagement of this level between Iran and the three members of the Mecca mutual defence pact since the regional conflict escalated. Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistani military chief Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin met senior Iranian officials. A Pakistani security official said discussions focused on establishing a regional non-aggression framework, addressing the conflict in Yemen, managing the Strait of Hormuz crisis and exploring diplomatic solutions between Tehran and Washington. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia reported intercepting additional Houthi missiles and drones. The continuation of these negotiations could contribute to emerging regional security arrangements and reduce dependence on external security frameworks./ Al Jazeera
